Welcome!

“Pathwalker, there is no path. You must make the path as you walk.”

– A. Machado

Welcome to our website. The intention is for family and friends to follow us on our honeymoon, and for anyone else interested in information about the various aspects/challenges/insights we’re sharing that we’ve picked up on our specific journey. One of the greatest pieces of advice I heard from a thru-hiker I encountered last summer, and which I’m making sure to state clearly as a disclaimer, is that no matter what other people say, each hike is highly individual, and there are no “right” answers-so if any of this proves useful, great; if not, I hope you find the path that works for you. Hike your own hike:)

The Pacific Crest Trail is a National Scenic Trail that runs 2, 650 miles from Mexico to Canada, traversing through, arguably, the most beautiful part of the Western United States. We will walk through six of the seven ecozones, 3 states, and along the way will observe the biodiversity that we typically neglect in our everyday lives. From the deserts to the arctic/alpine forests, and the rain-drenched forests of the pacific northwest; from the Sierra to the Cascades, we’ll walk. For more info about the trail, check out the Pacific Crest Trail Association’s website.

Jacob will be taking photographs, and we’ll both be posting personal anecdotes, along with tips and pointers that we picked up through the various stages of this endeavor.  For information on our itinerary, planned menu, gear, or if you just want to get to know more about us, feel free to take a look around.
