Crossed the divide

White rock Creek to Gateway Creek, I don’t know how many miles, maybe 25.
Bear scat around here is darker and we’ve seen a lot of it. Either tthe bears here are eating different foods from those whose scar we encountered in Glacier, or it’s possible to identify black bears and grizzly bears by the difference in their droppings, or both are possible.

Elk scat are light brown pellets about the size of almonds. We followed bear tracks, deer tracks, elk tracks, dog tracks, and human tracks; one who is wearing the same shoes as Jacob. We met two humans and two dogs who are thru-hiking together.

Around 1:00pm, when the sun was hot we crossed the divide from the Atlantic side to the Pacific side.

Tonight we are surrounded by burned trees. If the wind picks up they may howl and moan. Goodnight!
